Thesis: It will be a booming year, things are about to go sky HIGH for the industry.
This industry has been off my radar until the executive order was signed to **expedite** the rescheduling of the this commodity which led me to research this corner of the market. My bet is the change goes into effect or moves significantly forward in Q1(jan-mar) 2026, we'll see what direction the prediction market goes on this topic.
Here's a few catalysts that i think will benefit the market and investors.
1. Internal Revenue Code 280E
* Everyone should be familiar with this tax code, overnight every company's balance sheet and valuation will change, potentially saving the industry billions of dollars.
1. Medical Research(Big Pharma)-This may be another GLP-1 moment
* No more "red tape", Scientists will no longer need the same high-level DEA registrations required for "dangerous" drugs.
* Federal grants and university-led clinical trials become more accessible.
* a few markets that can be addressed
* Neuropathic Pain
* Opioid Reduction
* Arthritis and Inflammation(boomer and aging population on medicare)
* Epilepsy
* Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
* Parkinson’s Disease
* Nausea and Vomiting\*\*:\*\* It is highly effective at reducing chemotherapy-induced nausea.
* Sleep Quality-goodbye Ambien and melatonin
* PTSD(options trading)
* Anxiety(Fed rate decision days)
* Glaucoma(read the charts better)
1. Banking and Investment
* Many banks and insurance companies avoid the industry because "Schedule I" implies the highest level of federal risk. Not anymore.
* Large investment funds that are barred from investing in "illegal" Schedule I substances may find it easier to enter the market. There's billions waiting to pour into the industry.
I think in the next state of the union address, the industry gets a shout out. Congress may even federally legalize it.
