SaaS faces AI disruption; stay selective.
The SaaS subscription economy is in a real crisis because companies can use AI agents to handle coding and workflows previously paid for through software subscriptions such as ERP. That pressures revenue models and makes multiple expansion hard. Not all SaaS firms disappear, but investors must separate winners and losers and be conservative on the group, watching earnings calls and IR materials for evidence of AI adaptation.
AI data-center buildout lifts materials and hardware.
AI investment is a long cycle because AI data centers are more complex and require far more physical infrastructure than ordinary data centers. The supply chain is not ready, so buildout will take time and require repeated investment in GPUs, CPUs, copper, aluminum, electrical wiring and industrial equipment. The speaker says software cannot run without these data centers and that old-economy/material suppliers benefit first, calling out copper, aluminum, electric wires/cables, Caterpillar and semiconductors as beneficiaries.
KOSPI likely strongest market this year.
The KOSPI can be the strongest major market this year because the AI era rewards manufacturing and industrial capability, where Korea is well prepared. Korea's largest market cap is Samsung Electronics, a manufacturer, while Germany's largest, SAP, is a struggling SaaS company, showing the relative shift. The speaker also cites governance reform as a trigger and says he views Korean equities positively.
Apple lacks AI, may trade sideways.
Apple's low AI investment is currently flattered as defensive because it avoids heavy capex and can return cash, but over two to three years it is an AI laggard. Its need to rely on Google Gemini for AI may erode its identity, and the speaker expects the stock to behave more like a high-dividend telecom stock, moving sideways rather than re-rating as an AI winner.
Palantir is an AI-era SaaS winner.
As SaaS restructures, value should concentrate in AI-native software companies like Palantir. The speaker says Palantir has used AI to build differentiated defense systems that others cannot easily replicate and helps enterprises automate, making it the kind of surviving model in the next software phase.
Adobe's moat is eroded by AI.
Adobe is one of the most pressured software names because AI tools such as Gemini can now produce images and video from simple text, reducing the differentiation of Photoshop and related products. The company has not yet shown a convincing AI response, so the market has de-rated it and remains skeptical.
Watch Unity earnings for AI response.
Unity is a game-engine company facing AI disruption because games can increasingly be generated from text, reducing the role of developers. Its upcoming earnings call is important: the speaker says investors should focus less on the numbers and more on whether management has a credible response to AI or is helpless.
Naver shopping AI can lift stock.
Naver's integration with Dunamu/Naver Financial is a major option because AI-agent shopping and negotiation will likely settle in stablecoins, and assets may be tokenized, creating a much larger 24-hour market. Regulatory concerns about bank ownership and major-shareholder stakes are weighing on Naver now, but if the rules are clarified in a way that lets private companies operate, the speaker sees this as potentially the largest value driver for Naver.
Korean solar overdone; buy on pullback.
Korean solar stocks rallied sharply after Elon Musk's space-solar comments, but the speaker thinks the move is overdone short term. Space solar is not near commercialization, Tesla lacks sufficient technology and efficiency and would need China's supply chain, which is politically difficult in the US. However, a sufficient pullback could create an opportunity because US electricity demand is huge, solar is unavoidable in renewables, and the US sees Korean companies as partners with a major role.
