RBC US expansion and strong momentum
McKay frames the US as RBC's second home market and a core growth engine: RBC has grown strongly in the US, launched the RBC Clear treasury management platform to a great reception, brought in $25 billion of new money from US senior corporates and Fortune 500 clients, and built the fifth-largest high-net-worth platform in the US, and it continues to invest and lend there. He also says RBC entered the year strongly on the senior market side and that he is very positive about its deal momentum for the year ahead.

Middle East is a great investment
McKay says one of the key themes of Davos is that the Middle East is a great place to invest, and RBC is focused on it: there are significant investment commitments between the Middle East and Canada on both sides, with Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia standing out, and he expects a greater presence from OPEC in the region as well.
