Data center stocks have more rebound room.
Moody's projects at least $3T of data center capital expenditure over the next five years. Data center-related stocks had lagged while semiconductors rallied, but they rebounded on this news and Park sees more rebound room. He cites Oracle, Broadcom, CoreWeave, AMD, SanDisk, Western Digital, and semiconductors broadly as beneficiaries.
SanDisk and Western Digital outperform.
Western Digital spun off SanDisk, separating HDD and SSD businesses. Both stocks have surged and shareholders of both benefited. Park sees the spin-off as meaningful and highlights strong 2026-27 earnings forecasts, with SanDisk showing exceptional relative performance.
Alphabet to surpass Nvidia by Q3.
Park expects Alphabet to become the world's largest company by market cap around Q3, overtaking Nvidia. Nvidia sells AI infrastructure, while Alphabet has both infrastructure and the application layer where AI monetization should occur, including autonomous driving, robotics, and AI healthcare. The reported Apple-Google Gemini contract, at roughly $1B annually, strengthens Alphabet's AI distribution.
Korean semiconductor leaders can rise more.
Samsung Electronics and SK hynix have absorbed four days of foreign selling without breaking down, which Park reads as a sign they can rise further. Samsung saw heavy retail buying despite foreign outflows, and UBS raised SK hynix's target and forecast 2026 operating profit of KRW 150T and 2027 KRW 157T, driven by higher prices and margins. ETF weighting also favors these top caps.
Korean robotics theme to stay strong.
Park says robotics and aerospace are the strongest Korean themes and continue to rise. He expects robot-related sectors to be a major theme this year, helped by HD Hyundai Robotics' IPO preparation and Boston Dynamics' planned US IPO, and by component makers shifting existing precision technologies into robot parts.
S&P 500 to rise further in Q1.
Park expects the S&P 500 to rise further in Q1. The index reached a record high while top mega-caps such as Nvidia were flat and Microsoft and Apple were falling; if those mega-caps attract renewed buying, the index can move up strongly. He does not think the largest caps are likely to fall much further.
KOSPI may touch 5,000 in January.
Park agrees KOSPI could touch 5,000 in January. He cites strong consecutive gains, foreign selling being absorbed by other sectors, semiconductor valuations below the broader market on estimated earnings, and expected roughly 20% operating profit growth for ex-semiconductor KOSPI companies.
Cap-weighted Korean ETFs favored over equal-weight.
Park highlights that Korean ETF flows are cap-weighted and therefore concentrate money in the largest index names, especially Samsung Electronics and SK hynix. KODEX 200 and TIGER 200 cap-weighted returns far outpaced their equal-weighted versions, and he thinks supply-demand will remain concentrated in large-cap exporters rather than broadening to mid and small caps.
Gold benefits from risk and rate cuts.
Gold hit a record above $4,600 as investors seek protection from geopolitical risk, a politicized Fed and expected rate cuts, which weaken currency values and support hard assets. Park says investors are increasingly taking gold positions as a hedge against high equity valuations and uncertain risks.
S&S Tech EUV mask localization opportunity.
Samsung Electronics is evaluating domestically produced EUV blank masks developed by S&S Tech for 2Q application, aiming to replace Japanese suppliers. Park reports the news drove the stock sharply higher and sees it as a meaningful localization and import-substitution development.
K-Vatech enters robot parts business.
K-Vatech has die-casting technology used in smartphone hinge parts and signed a collaborative robot exterior case component contract with Rainbow Robotics, entering the robot parts business. Park highlights this as an important example of component makers transitioning their existing technologies into robotics.
LS Electric opens European transformer market.
LS Electric won a transformer order from a German energy company. Although the order size is not large, Park says the important point is that it opens the European transformer market to a Korean supplier.
