Reliable power needed for AI demand.
AI data centers are increasing electricity demand, but new demand does not inherently raise prices if supply is allowed to expand. The real problem is regulatory prohibitions on reliable power and subsidies for intermittent solar and wind, which undermine the economics of dispatchable plants. Natural gas, coal, nuclear, batteries charged off-peak, and uprates of existing gas plants are needed to meet demand and lower prices.
