Ted Rossman Senior Industry Analyst at Bankrate The David Lin Report
BNPL credit reporting benefits lenders.
FICO will start incorporating buy now, pay later data into credit scores this fall, and providers like Affirm, Afterpay, and Klarna are increasingly reporting plans. Although lender and bureau adoption will take time, bringing BNPL into the credit reporting system is positive because it gives BNPL lenders better visibility into borrower credit behavior and legitimizes the product, which should benefit BNPL lenders.
