Bitcoin has no external resolution, so holders cannot force anyone to pay them and hold a token whose only function is recording transfers of itself. Miners must sell newly issued coins for fiat to pay electricity and hardware, so investor money leaks out to energy companies with no endpoint benefit to recover it. Once new investor inflows fall below the system's maintenance cost, the system will begin consuming itself and devalue.
