Foundry and AI CPUs outweigh PC weakness.
Intel's Q4 guidance badly missed, by about $0.20 in EPS and nearly $2B in revenue. Acree says the miss is all about PCs and memory: OEMs used up their cheaper memory inventory, had to pay market prices, and PC volumes fell as a result. He says this shows Intel is still largely a PC-levered company. Even so, he thinks the fundamentals are intact. The September quarter was fine, with data center AI about $500M above estimates and foundry about $200M better. He says what makes Intel a '$100 stock' is its AI leverage and its foundry turnaround, not PCs, where it has been losing share to AMD for years. Its 14A foundry engagements are growing in breadth and pace, and Benchmark is a 'big proponent' that Intel can become a real TSMC competitor, which he calls 'the ultimate reason to own Intel.' He also expects agentic AI inference to rely more and more on CPUs, which he calls a persistent theme. He says 'the reasons to own Intel are there.' He discloses no personal position.
