S&P 500 index funds are best.
Cramer warns that when a hot IPO/SPAC cycle floods the stock market with new supply, the broad market eventually gets dragged down after euphoria fades. He says there is no need to chase upcoming IPO waves because the new supply ultimately weighs on equities.
Own mostly Magnificent 7 large caps.
For the actively managed stock sleeve, Cramer recommends building a portfolio of six to ten stocks and overweighting two or three large-cap names, mostly Magnificent 7 stocks he views as great; this can help investors try to beat the S&P 500.
Nvidia beats estimates, becomes cheap.
Nvidia frequently looks expensive on forward earnings but then trumps those estimates so thoroughly that backward-looking valuations become remarkably low. Cramer says this has been the secret to Nvidia since 2012 and it keeps repeating.
Avoid speculative EV SPAC IPOs.
Speculative EV names that came public via IPOs and SPAC mergers in 2020-21 were built on hype, low revenue or no commercialization, and excess stock supply. Cramer says many got crushed after the market lost interest, and investors should stay skeptical of such hot new issues and SPAC deals.
Residential solar needs cheap financing.
Cramer argues residential solar is really a financing business, not just a renewables story. When long-term interest rates stay elevated, consumers cannot afford systems and residential solar stocks such as Enphase get crushed, so investors should not own them merely because of renewable subsidies.
Total stock market fund is better.
Cramer says John Bogle told him to use Vanguard's total stock market fund for his 401k because over the long term it is more diversified than the S&P 500 and can capture younger growth and smaller companies. Cramer followed that advice and holds it.
