Neil believes there is a persistent and underpriced HBM/memory shortage. He says there is no easy way to bring on much more memory fab capacity, memory producers have been burned by cyclical capex, and HBM scarcity is probably the most important bottleneck to attack. He expects the shortage to keep memory costs high and even push consumer device prices up, supporting DRAM/HBM suppliers such as Micron, SK hynix, and Samsung.

Neil sees AMD as a fundamentally good chip franchise that the market has underestimated because it lacks NVIDIA's out-of-the-box kernel optimization and ecosystem maturity. He says AMD has been underappreciated, there is alpha in extracting more performance from its hardware, and he wants Sail to buy as much AMD supply as possible, even though large buyers like Meta and OpenAI have started taking AMD chips.
Solar/wind power underutilized; exploit intermittency.
Neil says solar and wind power is way undertapped in the United States. The main obstacle is intermittency, which makes renewables unsuitable for traditional data-center baseload demand, but Sail's long-horizon background inference workloads can tolerate outages measured even in days or weeks. That lets Sail buy cheap, unloved power that other data-center operators avoid.

Neil is explicitly bullish on NVIDIA in the short term. He says NVIDIA constantly reinvents itself and you should never bet against it, even as he argues that headline per-watt improvements from Hopper to Blackwell/Rubin and from TSMC process nodes are less dramatic than consensus suggests. Nvidia also strategically allocates scarce compute and benefits from intense demand for Blackwell-class chips.
AI inference demand real; semiconductor boom durable.
Neil argues that semiconductor strength and AI compute demand are not speculative like the dot-com networking buildout. Token consumption is immediately valuable and used rather than hoarded, inference spend increases monotonically, and the market's fear that semiconductors will revert to their historical S&P 500 weight is overblown for this cycle.
