Finally broke through my worst losses. I had a really bad time between 2020-2022 where I was learning options and lost so much money ! Went down 70-80% as you can see.
Something changed in 2024 - my mindset. I focused on accumulating all my capital in one account to have fire power. Then I just played covered call and reinvested in simple ETFs or blue chips. I took high conviction bets on SMH, Google (and CC) etc.
Here is the learning, options are not bad, just use it wisely and don’t be greedy. That’s it. If you have losses that’s fine, plan your tax loss harvesting so you pay minimum tax and convert some of existing shares in green to long term while you realize losses. This is the single most important thing as you grow your portfolio size above 250K.
Options Tip : if you are theta/gamma gang. Buy LEAP deep ITM call/put and sell weekly strangles around 10-20 delta to make weekly income and use that money to buy stocks.
You can always come back with options even without gambling. Don’t need to Yolo. Pick safe ETFs or stocks and play and have systemic income approach use it to buy stocks for long term. Time + capital can recover losses.
