[+11] u/AngronTheDestroyer: MU single handedly saved the tech sector. Spectacular earnings report. The semi/memory boom continues.
[+10] u/Material-Gift6823: Well I'm terrible at trading 🙂 my dreams of ever getting a home are basically gone 🤣
[+10] u/95Daphne: Welp, I just did it for the heck of it.
2 shares of MU.
If earnings go poorly, you know who to blame.
[+9] u/MitchCurry: Rheinmetall just lost a €10B Germany contract to build 6 anti-submarine frigates. The contract led them to buy a shipbuilder for €1.5B as part of a broader push into naval defense, which will almost certainly be a goodwill write-down now. And expenses of \~€2.3B were already incurred for the contract, some of which RHM will end up eating. The kicker is Germany switched the contract to a RHM competitor for 8 smaller frigates.
Part of me thinks this could be an opportunity as their core franchise, weapons and ammunition, vehicle systems, electronic solutions, etc., is unimpacted by this.
However, I can't help but wonder if this naval yard purchase for a contract is a sign of management overdoing it and trying to do too much too fast. It feels like they've gotten away from their core competencies. I saw a note from JPM that said RHM has announced at least 10 new joint ventures since late 2024. That is broad and very fast expansion.
I'll continue to watch from the sidelines.
[+8] u/selesnyaTroll: Oil now only a couple bucks above pre-war prices and every oil major stock is at or below pre-war prices. Total capitulation.
[+8] u/Embarrassed-Sea-6078: MU single-handedly saving the bull market.
[+8] u/NotGucci: MU guidance is insane. Demand is creeping into 2030.
[+8] u/_hiddenscout: Small dividends still crack me up. Got like my 1 dollar from RAL the other day lol.
[+7] u/PlayfulPresentation7: Micron to the rescue. Suck it, bears.
[+7] u/AltruisticOwl156: MU just proved AI spend is still in full swing, looks like chip and ram stocks heading higher for another 3 months until next quarter.
[+6] u/Foreigntragedy: Meta is fucking garbage wow
[+6] u/throwaway9gk0k4k569: Wendy's is now a datacenter stock.
[+6] u/jrex035: My trading account is deep red as far as the eye can see, truly incredible stuff. 20% drawdown in the past month, straight down, without any relief.
Rotated into different sectors only for those sectors to go tits up too. Worst month of my trading career and its not even close
[+6] u/_hiddenscout: Looks like Honeywell aerospace is going to join sp500.
IESC is joining sp400 midcap.
[+5] u/VoidMageZero: Why did the market flip?
[+5] u/TrinityVermilion: hey microsoft, short thanks from micron: thank you for keep buying our totally overpriced ram, cheers. xDDDDD
[+5] u/Axe_Raider: lemme check on my MU puts real quick
[+5] u/Able_Show_8560: There's SO many MSFT and NOW bagholders over in r/valueInvesting. Big yikes. Reminds me of the same vibes when NKE and PYPL were tanking
