Meta will pay $12.7B over 10 years. And an additional $5.3B if TikTok and Youtube also pay $5.3 and also agree to the same terms Meta agreed to. These include:

Sounds like a best case scenario for Meta. They deny wrong-doing and get to set the standard. The $1.4T headline disappears. And call me naive, but at first blush, the terms sound like a win for California and society in general.
However, I am skeptical of the actual enforcement. On one hand, Meta claims to advertisers that they can target middle-aged suburban mothers looking to get into pilates, but then on the other hand they claim futility at identifying users under the age of 13. So we'll see if this actually has teeth.
I had about a $100B Legal Liability pencilled in for this lawsuit. I can bring that down to $18B. Making Meta even more undervalued imo. (Long META)
