Summary
The post is an announcement of an update to Rule 4 in r/ValueInvesting, tightening restrictions on commercial advertising and free services that require sign-up or have freemium tiers.
The author’s thesis is that vibe coding AI tools are here to stay, and some are used to scrape user data, so the rule change aims to protect the community from such practices.
Quality assessment: This is a moderation policy announcement, not investment research, DD, or speculative analysis. It is noise from an investment perspective.

We should have done this a long time ago, apologies that we haven't but we sort of assumed that the fad of vibe coding AI tools would wear off. It clearly hasn't and is here to stay. We have also been made aware that some of these are being created just to scrape user data and sell it onward so the change to the below means any website that requires sign up or restricts usage on a freemium tier is no longer allowed.
# Rule 4
# No Commercial Advertising
No posts, comments or accounts advertising commercial products or services.
Truly free services may be introduced once. To qualify as free, the service must not restrict usage behind "freemium" tiers, and must not require users to create an account. Do not violate the "No Spam" rule.
Self-promotion of articles you authored is allowed if on-topic. Use modmail to ask the moderators first if you are unsure.
