“Buying AMZN after the dip”
Value investing has changed in the past 20 years. Everyone has access to the same data. Valuations today bake in a qualitative narrative as much as they do a quantitative one.
But there are a plethora of opportunities. There are amazing “growth at a reasonable price” stories in sub 20b companies.
Investing in the largest, hottest companies after a 5% decline from the start of the week does not scream “value investing”. It screams “following the herd” and “speculating”.
I’m not saying that the mag 7 are not great businesses. Quite the opposite. But everyone knows that. The market is exceptional at pricing the top ten largest companies in line with what they are worth and then some.
